A Weekend With The Little's

I went to Monica and Scott's in Austin a few weeks ago to spend the weekend.  I flew down Friday afternoon and came back Sunday night.  It was a quick trip but so much fun to see them.

We ate Amy's Icecream.. three times! (We took some home from the store with us)

I met Buzz Light Year.

Holly helped Monica with Family Home Evening.

Holly using her dad as a chair.

We watched some cartoons together.

I kept trying to wrestle Milo.

And I gave Holly and Milo lots of loving.

IRISH for a DAY

I made Charlie wear a shamrock and took him to work with me for St. Patrick's day.   He's always such a good sport with me dragging him everywhere and dressing him up for everything.  Bless my children when I have them one day.. they don't stand a chance of not celebrating holidays!! Haha!

Happy St PaTrICK's Day!!!

I made Vanilla cupcakes with eatable glitter to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  I want to say thank you to St. Patrick for going to Ireland from Rome to teach about Christianity.  And thank you for using the Shamrock to teach about the holy Trinity!!

ATLAS SHRUGGED...the movie

This may be one of the most exciting things that has ever happened!!
Atlas Shrugged one of the best books I have ever read, ever,
is now going to be a 3 part movie.
Anyone within the sound of my blog...see the movie! Read the book!!!

Let the Quilt Begin

I bought the pattern and the material for the 4th of July quilt I am going to make for one of my new years resolutions.

My Grandma asked me on Sunday if I had made a quilt before. I said, "No I haven't, this will be my first," she then said, "Do you have a sewing machine?" I said, "I've had one since I was a Senior in High School, but I'm not really sure how to use it!" HaHa! She said, "Oh."

I think she may be a little nervous about the project I am starting. To be honest, I am nervous too! Wish me luck!!

It's Brilliant

A few things have recently come into my life that I absolutely love. I kept hearing myself talk about these things and saying "It's Brilliant"

#1. Pill Pockets. I use these to give Charlie his medicine. It's brilliant. You just put the pills or capsule or whatever inside and close the end. He thinks its a little treat..gulps it right down without any problems. Brilliant!!

#2. Carbmaster Yogurt. Aubrey and Janeal introduced this to me. It is yogurt that has 60 calories, 4 grams of carbs and 8 grams of protein. The best part it's super tasty! Brilliant!!

#3. Bootsocks. Really! These may have been around for a while but I just discovered them. I love them. I used to wear knee high nylons with my boots. Now, I don't have to, I can wear these cute, comfy boot sock. They stay up and have no slipage. I love it. They're brilliant!!

#4. 2 cup dry measuring cup. I don't know what to say about this other than it is absolutely brilliant and I use it all of the time.

#5. Universal Remote. A good friend of mine actually gave this to me and it's brilliant. As you can see it has a digital screen and all I have to do is select the activity I want to do and the remote automatically turns on all the equipment to do it with the touch of just one button. It truly is amazing! I love it!!

I wish I could have invented some of these brilliant things. I'm young, there still may be time. Have you discovered anything lately that you think is absolutely brilliant? There is always room in my life for things that are brilliant!!!! :)

Obsessed with Shoes!

A few months ago out of curiosity I counted all of my black shoes. This included, boots, flip flops, sandals, and heels. I have 27 pairs of black shoes. That might be a little much. Recently found and bought the super cute red shoes you see below.

After I bought, I realized I have a couple of other pairs of red shoes. I have just 5 pairs of red shoes, but I ask you how many pairs of reds shoes or black shoes are too many? Is it fair to say I am obsessed with shoes? :)

Blongo Ball Tournament..Sigh!

We had a Blongo Ball tournament at work today. It was also Sports Day Friday. I wore my purple Jazz shirt for good luck!! I didn't win. :(

Brianna was the champion!! Do you think the Jazz shirt had anything to do with me losing? I'm sure it had absolutely nothing to do with my skills! Will just see who wins next time, Bri..better watch out, lady!

Potty Training??

I love this guy with all of my heart. One of the best decisions I ever made was to adopt Charlie. However, Charlie has developed a new bad habit....see below.

He has decided he loves to go through my bathroom garbage!!! But, the only time he does it is when I get up early to workout. He always wakes up with me. I feed him, let him out to take care of his business. I let him back in and go down stairs to get the workout done. When I come back upstairs, what do I find? The bathroom garbage everywhere and Charlie back asleep on his bed. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to keep Charlie out of the bathroom garbage???

Creative Cravings

I love to celebrate holidays..especially with food! I made a heart shaped pizza for Valentines day. It was very easy. I cut a pita pocket into a heart shape using my kitchen shears. Topped it with pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese. I used my chicken shears again to cut my turkey pepperoni into heart shaped! I baked it on my pizza stone for about 15 mins at 350 and then broiled it for about 3 minutes to make it crispy. Topped it with fresh basil and ta da...Heart shaped pizza! Yum!!

Cooking Class

One of my new year's goals was to take a cooking class. I signed up for a bread making class at Gregory's Wheat Shop where I bought my Bosch. The class was okay. The lady may have talked a little more than she cooked.. hehe! Defeats the purpose of a cooking class just a little. :) I did however learn how to make fresh stove top jam. It is pretty easy and totally delish!!! Another resolutions down. Several more to go....

Stove Top Jam

3 cups any type of fruit (can be fresh or frozen)
3/4 cup of sugar
zest of 1/2 a lemon (can use more if you'd like)
lemon juice of 1/2 a lemon (can use more if you'd like)
cover with water boil for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours (stir occasionally)
mash with potato masher
add about 1 TB sure gel to thicken
serve warm or cold
keeps in refrigerator about a week..do not freeze!
