The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's NestThe Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love this series of books! I woke up at 4:00am to finish. One of the things that I like the most was that he completed the story. No loose ends. It makes me crazy when authors stop writing. Good book!

Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never SeenBorn to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen by Christopher McDougall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book offers motivation and inspiration.  The stories of some of the runners seem unreal!  There were a couple of parts that bored me a tiny bit but overall it was a good book.  Amazing what our bodies can be trained to do and accomplish.  I think this book will help me to become a better runner.

Crossing the Chasm: Marketing and Selling High-Tech Products to Mainstream CustomersCrossing the Chasm: Marketing and Selling High-Tech Products to Mainstream Customers by Geoffrey A. Moore

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was assigned to read this book in my Strategic Decision Making class for my MBA.  It is a good book.  I thought I would be bored to tears but I wasn't.  The opening chapter of the book is "If Bill Gates can be a billionare, why can't I?"  Well, why can't I?  This book will help you learn how to strategically market your business and helps you understand why some businesses work and why others do not.  The book actually contains some pretty unique and understandable theories.

The Lincoln Lawyer (Mickey Haller, #1)The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I saw this movie over the summer.  I loved the movie.  I decided to read the book.  I loved the book.  The book and the movie coincide very very well.  I haven't read many other lawyer/detective type books so I don't have a lot to compare this book to but, I know I was captivated, interested and wanted to keep going. It has some harsh language just to be warned. But, it is a great book.

The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium, #2)The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really liked this book.  I liked it better than the first one, I think.  They are such interesting books and very well written.  There is strong language and adult content.  Be prepared for that if you decide to read it.  Very captivating a book that is hard to put down.

Thirteen Reasons WhyThirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I finished this book as an audio book. I bought it from iTunes because it was listed as #1 and only cost $5.95. I had no idea what to expect. It was really great! I was immediately interested in the story after the first few pages had been read. The way the story is written is very captivating. The story line is just okay. Not to shocking or exciting, and actually very sad. But, I was entertained I wanted to keep listening to see what would come up next and to know how everything tied together and how the story ended. This is a great book to add to your list of something entertaining, captivating and easy to read.

Along Came a Spider (Alex Cross, #1)Along Came a Spider by James Patterson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I've read a lot of James Patterson novels.  Interesting that I didn't start with this one first since it is #1.  I like his writing.  The books don't blow me away but there is something I like about them because I keep reading them.  The book has a good blot with mystery, romance and suspension.  I liked it quite a bit. On the the next...

The Old Man and the SeaThe Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I didn't love this book. I read it because a friend suggested it to me. I've read Hemingway before and didn't love him. He's still not my style. I might be missing something. I don't know!?

Night (Night, #1)Night by Elie Wiesel

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A another book about the Holocaust that breaks my heart. Told from the perspective a 13 year old boy. It is compelling and heart breaking to read. One of my favorite lines from the author.. "One person of integrity can make a difference, a difference of life and death." I definitely recommend this book.

Water for ElephantsWater for Elephants by Sara Gruen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Good book! Not on my list of favorite books ever but I would recommend it. I would like to know how much of it is true..I'm assuming most of it. If you are an animal lover it might be upsetting for you to read. It doesn't make me want to go to the circus anytime soon, either.

The Complete Long Stories of Shelock HolmesThe Complete Long Stories of Shelock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I'm not 100% sure this is the right cover of the Sherlock Holmes book I read but Goodreads doesn't have a copy of the book I read.  I do know that it was a book with various stories of Sherlock Holmes.  It was an okay book.  I wasn't dying over it and mostly just plowed through finishing it to count it toward my reading goal for the year.  Sorry Sherlock, I love you, just didn't gush over the book.

I am quickly becoming a huge fan of this author. I love her thoughts of individualism, capitalism, and talent development.  I love the language of the book and the tense in which it is written.  It is short, easy to read, entertaining, thought provoking and left me with a feeling of inspiration.  I highly recommend this book.
