This Means War

Maybe it is because I am a single lady but I LOVED this movie.  I would gladly date either of the men in the movie.  To be quite honest I wouldn't mind hanging out with Reese Witherspoon either.  I also think that Chelsea Lately could quite possibly be one of the funniest women alive.  I laughed and laughed at her crude boy drama humor.  Anyway I give this move an absolute thumbs up.  Funny and entertaining.  I'm not sure how married people will feel about it but as a single person I laughed my socks off!

Sherlock Holmes Part II

I saw the second Sherlock Holmes movie with my mom and dad and brother and his family the day after Christmas.  I LOVED the first Sherlock Holmes movie.  I liked this one.  It was a little bit too long for me and the story line wasn't as exciting.  To be completely honest I even fell asleep for a hot second in the theater.  I would still recommend seeing the movie because it is creative and exciting but not something to lose sleep over or rust out and see again soon.

Breaking Dawn

I saw Breaking Dawn part I with my sister Monica while we were in Portland trying to find a house for her to rent.  It was okay.  It felt more like a cheesy vampire movie to me than the other Twilight movies that I loved. They spent a lot of time setting up the story so, I felt like it was slow in a lot of parts.  I am looking forward to part II.  I have to admit I'm quite excited to see Bella as a vampire.

The Conspirator

This movie was released on April 15th.  It is true story about the involvement of several people in the assassination of president Abraham Lincoln.  The story is fascinating.  I had know idea these people were every involved.  Not wanting to spoil the movie if you don't know the story, I am not going to tell you more. It is a good movie.  Intense, interesting and emotion provoking.  I liked it very much.

The Help

The Help is a very good book.  I read it this year as part of my reading goal.  It was also an amazing movie.  It was put together very well and followed the book almost perfectly.  I ended up seeing the movie on a Saturday afternoon and by myself.  Don't feel sorry for me, sometimes I do that.  But, I rule I have when I see movies alone is that I won't let myself cry because I feel like that would be a cause for people for feel sorry for me. It was a tough thing to not cry during this movie.  I was surrounded with people sniffling and wiping tears from their faces.  Like I said, a very good book and an amazing movie.

Harry Potter 7

I'm a little bit behind on writing post. Life got busy!!

I like writing posts about movies that I see in the theater because I like watching movies so much. I saw Harry Potter 7 weeks ago in July when it came out. I have to say, it is one of the best movies I have seen. 17 stars and 12 thumbs up from me. I really liked Part I of Harry and the Deathly Hallows but I love Part II. I won't tell what happens in case there happens to be someone out there who hasn't seen it but just know it was one of my favorites ever and I highly recommend it to every!

T3

When the first Transformers movie came out I didn't want to see it but I did and I was shocked by how much I liked it.  When the second Transformers movie came out I did want to see it and was shocked by how much I didn't like it.  The third Transformers movie just came out.  I wanted to see it and I really liked it.  Way to pull it back together for number three!  I say two thumbs up, I thought it was great!

X-men: First Class

I love the X-men movies!!  I have been a huge fan since I saw the first one years ago.  It might have a little bit to do with the fact that I have a gigantic crush on Hugh Jackman!  No, truly, I think the movies are great. They are entertaining not too cheesy..(maybe a little) but the movies are great to watch and enjoy.  The first class movie did a great job of showing how the Xmen came to be.  It was fun to see them in their younger years.  I liked the way the story was developed and thought it was well played. Definitely a must see!

Thor

Five big Annie stars for the movie Thor!  I loved it.  I saw it this week with my friend Sarah.  It was much better than I thought it would be.  It was well developed and interesting.  The actors played their parts well.  I was entertained throughout the entire movie.  My favorite role... the gate keeper!  Loved him all the way! It's a great movie of good vs evil with a little romance mixed in. Clean, fun, entertaining.  Can't wait for part II.

Water for Elephants-- The Movie

As you all know I just finished reading the book Water for Elephants and I liked it good enough.  Well, this weekend I saw the movie - Water for Elephants.  I liked it good enough.  The book was better as most books are that are later made into movies.  Again the way the treat the animals is a little rough at times.  I have to admit it made me cry a little.  But, it was only because they were being mean to the animals and I was away from Charlie and it made me miss him.  I know, I know totally pathetic and I don't even care.  Good movie.  I would recommend seeing it.

Fast 5 in Brazil!

I saw the Fast and the Furious 5 last weekend.  I loved it!  I felt like I was in a party in the theater.  That may have helped persuade me to enjoy the movie.  I've seen a few of the other Fast and Furious movies.  The second one is my favorite and this is probably next in line.  It is clever and fun and full of good looking men.  It actually has a good theme of sticking together as a team and supporting your family.  And folks, let's be honest, it's filmed in Brazil... nothing can be bad with a stage like Rio de Janeiro Brazil.  This movie won't likely change your life but it is great for a Friday or Saturday date night thrill.

I saw Atlas Shrugged

I'm not sure I'm happy to admit I saw Atlas Shrugged Part I this weekend.  The book is so amazing and well written and deep and inspiring and educational.  The movie was awful.  Half way through I was asking if the producer had even read the book.  What did they do? Ahhhh!  So disappointing.  I'm a movie slut too, I'll see anything and like almost anything.  Maybe after so many bad reviews they will take a different approach for Part II and III.  Read the book, a great investment of your time... I do not advise seeing the movie.

Amazing Grace

I saw the movie Amazing Grace this weekend with my roommates. The movie truly is amazing. It tells the story of William Wilberforce an 18th Century Member of the British Parliament who is against slave trade. He worked tirelessly for years and years to abolish the slave trade. His work became his life and his destiny. The movie is very inspirational and descriptive. It clearly defines the hardships the antislavery pioneers had to face in order to save the lives of innocent human beings. It is a great movie to see to learn more about the abolishment of the slave trade and gives inspirational insight on working hard to change lives and make a difference.
