Soccer Soccer Soccer

REAL soccer has been busy. They had 3 games in 8 days. Two of the games were exhibition games against international teams. Last Saturday they played Everton a team from England. We won that game 2 to 0. On Tuesday we played Boca Junior from Argentina. We tied that game 1 to 1. Last night we played the MLS team New England Revolution. We lost that game 2 to 1. It was a sad sad day. I love going to the soccer games. Although our team isn't the greatest I love watching them play. Here are some pictures from a few of the games.

Tasty Cakes

My friend sent me pictures of all of these tasty cakes. I was amazed. They look so real. I have been wanting to take a cake decorating class but I imagined using a star tip and frosting bag to create my master pieces. These cakes take things to a whole new level. I've got to get started.

Happ Happ Happ...Happy Birthday!

My birthday was on Friday the 13th this year... Ahhh scary. I guess that's scary. I don't really know. It was an awesome, awesome day. It actually started on Thursday morning when I went to get my hair done. Then I met my Mom for a salad bar lunch at Ruby Tuesday's. After lunch we went shopping at Ikea before I had to go back to work. The birthday celebration continued, of course on Friday morning. Trish surprised and took me to breakfast at Paradise Bakery. I came home and worked for a while and then went to lunch with my boss at Barbacoa a staple in our diet these days. The night finished out with dinner at the Pine with a group of some of my closest friends. Then we came back to the apartment for some birthday cake. The day was fun fun fun. And you know how I am ... I can't wait until next year! I love birthdays. Even if they are on Friday the 13th.

4th of July

I slept until noon on the 4th of July. Why wouldn't you sleep that late on a national holiday? I ran some errands in the afternoon and did some shopping with Trish. Then we met up with Trish's friend Heidi, who I think is adorable. We went to Dudu's house in Kaysville for a BBQ. After the BBQ at Dudu's we headed back to SLC to watch the fireworks at Sugarhouse Park with Becca, Lex and the some of their roommates.

Jackson Hole

The annual Jackson Hole 4th of July trip was last weekend. It is one of my favorite trips of the year. Trish, Bri, Zane and I went up this year. We left Friday night and got there at about 1:30 in the morning. Thankfully Lex stayed up and waited for us and helped us set up our tent. Saturday we ate breakfast and headed for the river! We had 4 rafts this year so about 30 people on the river. Tricia rode "bull" the entire way. It was awesome! She got knocked off a couple of times but was a good sport. Lex, Bri, Zane and Becca did some cliff jumping. I have committed myself to jumping next year. I am already starting to prepare myself mentally. We left on Sunday and came home through Bear Lake so that I could have a raspberry shake. The summer just isn't a summer without a Bear Lake raspberry shake.
