Hats

I didn't watch the Royal Wedding Prince William and Catherine but I did look at the Pictures afterwards and my favorite part of the event are the hats.  Look at these hats. I got the pictures from Mail Online. Their absolutely amazing.  Why don't we wear hats.  I love them so much.  Can you imagine how much time would be saved doing our hair if all the women in the United States started wearing hats.  I love it!  I'm going shopping today for hats!!!

Ole Ole Ole REAL Salt Lake

I liked watching soccer while I was in High School.  And then I served a mission in Brazil and learned to love soccer.  I've been a fan of REAL Salt Lake for years.  Wednesday night they played in the CCL Cup finals here in Salt Lake against Monterrey Mexico.  My friend Kelli came along for the fun. I was so excited for the game.  I love watching the REAL play but to be able to watch them in such an elite game was so exciting.  The stands were on fire.

Everyone wearing red and chanting.  This is a picture of Scott, my brother in law with his brother and sisters.  Way to represent, Little Fam!!!  Everyone was standing and screaming the entire time, we never took our seats.  I was glorious, full of energy and fun!  The result was not perfect as we didn't win but I am so proud of our boys!

They played good and hard.  There are always mistake and things people think they could have done better but what happens is what it is.  I love REAL Salt Lake and will always be a fan!!!

Poor Sweet Holly

My niece Holly fell off her bed and broke her collar bone this week.  You can read about it on my sister's blog. She lives in Texas and I was sad I couldn't see her so I sent her some flowers and a teddy bear instead.  I hope she feels better soon and doesn't drive her Mom and Dad too crazy!  I can't imagine having a little one who is so active that has to be restrained.  I admire all of you who have kids.  Your patience and sacrifice are beyond anything I have had to comprehend.  I hope little sweet Holly heals up and feels better soon.  Much love to the sweet little girl!!

Can I Have a To Go Cup?

I have asked for a to go cup at a restaurant several times before I leave.  A couple of the reasons are, I love to drink from a straw,  I love to have my drinks with ice and I love having a lid on my cup.  Well, some brilliant person came up with a design for a reusable to go style cup.  As you can see I have purchased several of this style of cup and I love them.  I always have one near by.  And I'm always happy because I feel like I am drinking out of a real life to go cup.   One of my favorite things, I'm weird I know but I love my to go cups. Ha!

Egg Roll, Toss, and Smash

I colored Easter Eggs for the first time as an adult this year.  I didn't do great at it.  I didn't realize it works best if you use vinegar and I didn't have any so I just used water.  The colors didn't turn out very vivid but they were only for the egg roll we had at my moms so it didn't much matter.

Addi and Miya getting ready to roll some eggs.

The egg roll I had planned quickly became and egg toss, then gradually turned into an egg smash!

Gracie getting ready to toss some eggs.

Easton, Gracie and Kim getting ready to smash some eggs.  We ended up having a contest to see who could them the farthest or throw them the hardest at the fence post to see who could get the best smash.

Addi and Miya gathering the results.  It was so much fun!! Next year the smash is on!!!

Charlie's Easter

I didn't get anything for Charlie for Easter.  I'm sure he probably doesn't care because he is a dog.  I'm certain he didn't really know the day was any different, but I felt bad when I realized I didn't buy him and special doggie treats.  To compensate I let him have it out with the bunnies on my Happy Easter sign.  I didn't let him attack if for too long but he seemed to enjoy himself while it lasted.  I'll do better next year, Happy Easter Charlie!

Dinner Party

I had a dinner party at my house last night and forgot to take any pictures.  The dinner was a success and I am so happy everyone was able to come.  Brock made Fillet Mignon.  Mari Lu brought a Strawberry Almond Green Salad.  I made fresh hummus and roasted red pepper dips with baked pita slices.  I also cooked some baked potato and roasted vegetables. For dessert we had triple chocolate cake with whip cream and strawberries.  I truly am so sad I didn't take any pictures.  Thanks Dustin, Gentry, Heidi, Aubrey, Brock, Mari Lu and Tricia for being my guests. It really was a great evening.

I liked the way this book made me feel about my religion and my beliefs.  I like how it provided a new way to look at why, how and what, truly influences our lives.

Family Matters

Monica and Scott made a quick trip to Utah at the first of the month.  It was so fun to have everyone together.  It doesn't happen often and I love it when it does.  I love everyone in my family very much!

Jane EyreJane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I feel guilty giving a classic book four stars. It is a wonderful book and I did like a lot. The characters are well developed.  The story line is emotion stirring and well written.  It is no wonder it is a classic.

I saw Atlas Shrugged

I'm not sure I'm happy to admit I saw Atlas Shrugged Part I this weekend.  The book is so amazing and well written and deep and inspiring and educational.  The movie was awful.  Half way through I was asking if the producer had even read the book.  What did they do? Ahhhh!  So disappointing.  I'm a movie slut too, I'll see anything and like almost anything.  Maybe after so many bad reviews they will take a different approach for Part II and III.  Read the book, a great investment of your time... I do not advise seeing the movie.

Kalai

I went to a Kalai concert on Saturday.  This was my 4th kind of 5th.  How many is too many? Really? I love his style, his skills and his attitude.  One of the best guitarist I have ever heard.  Check him out!!!  He is amazing!!!!

Blossoms on the Cherry Tree

I woke up this morning to blossoms on my cherry tree!  I hope that means Spring is truly here and no more snow will come.  Last year the cherries had worms. I was so sad.  I've sprayed the trees and been watching it closely.   A few more months and we should have some good fruit to eat.  I am so excited!!!

Kid Rock Fan Here

I have truly never cared too much for Kid Rock.  I like the song "Picture" he sings with Sheryl Crow but that is the extent of the music I have ever listened to of his.  A few weeks ago I saw him being interviewed by Piers Morgan.  It was spectacular.  I was so impressed with the guy.  He is a good old American patriot, try to be honest, stand up guy.  He said a few things that I very much adore.

He said about the plane ride home after visiting the troops in Iraq and Afganistan, "There is something about coming home on a plane with human remains in a casket that is draped with an American flag that changes you."  I got tears in my eyes.

He also said one of the days he remembers most about his career was one day walking his son to school and then picking him up. They came home and turned on MTV.  They were looking to see where his CD was on the chart.  I believe it had rising to number 10 and he looked at his son and said, "Look buddy I'm going to be able to buy us a new house soon."  I thought that was so great.  One of the best moments of his career was with his son.

He doesn't sell his music on iTunes because he doesn't want someone else telling him what to do, which I can also appreciate, so I went out to the store and bought his new CD born free.  Congrats to you, and here's to living the American Dream.

Seth is biting Charlie!!

Everyone in my family gathered at my parents house this past weekend because Monica and Scott were visiting.  Little boy Seth loves little dog Charlie.  Charlie is great with kids and endures just about anything with the little ones.  Seth pulls his ears and plays with his tags.  They have great fun.

On Sunday we were all sitting around chatting having a good time and Alysha looked over and yelled,  Austin, "Seth is biting Charlie!"  Ha! I looked over and Seth had Charlie's leg grasped in both of his hands and was gnawing away.  It was so funny!  I laughed so hard!  Charlie just sat there like everything was normal.  Luckily Seth has no teeth because he is only 8 months old and Charlie doesn't have any teeth either because they were all extracted.  No that Charlie bit Seth in return.  We all found it hilarious and decided, they make quite the cute little pair!!

Glitter Toes

My friend Stef gave me glitter toes.  She literally painted my toe nail with clear nail polish and dumped red glitter all over them.  I'm so happy! I love them so much! The paint has stayed on forever!!!!  Glitter toes... one of my new favorite things!!!

Welcome Sprinter

A new term has been formed to describe the type of weather we are experiencing here in Utah.  It's Sprinter.. Spring and Winter combined.  By the date stamp of this post we all know it is April 10th.  Under normal circumstances in Utah April 10th is typically a warm, sunny, spring day.  The tulips and daffodils have likely started blooming.  The grass is turning green.  The temperatures are rising.  Well, that is not the case this year.

This is a picture I took in my  yard this morning.  Poor little tree! It has been snowing for 3 days.  I mostly just want it to stop.  I don't like the season Sprinter!! I want SPRING!!!!!!

The Only Difference

This is one of my darling little nieces. Her name is Miya and she is 5 years old.  She told her Grandma yesterday, "The only difference between me and Annie is that Annie doesn't do the 'Shake your Booty Dance' and I don't have an iPhone."   Haha!  How funny is that?  And truly those are the only differences between us.  I love her so much!!  Kids are the best!!!!  Love you Miya!!
